We create complete turn-key freezer room projects
Allied Structures will build you a superior freezer room, but our expertise extends far beyond the build. We’re able to undertake all the ongoing maintenance and repairs as well to keep your freezer room running optimally.
All freezer rooms require a heated pressure relief port within an insulated wall to allow for pressure within the freezer room to equalise quickly when the doors are opened. Freezer rooms also need heated door frames to alleviate door gaskets freezing to door frames, the heat produced is very low, as it requires only just enough heat to keep the frame and gasket’s above freezing. Freezer room doors also come with emergency exit releases, together with external/internal bells to attract attention if someone gets locked inside the freezer room.
All freezer rooms require insulation within the floor. This can be achieved in a few different ways.
- If access is needed into freezer rooms by forklifts or pallet trolleys, the most common form of insulating the floors is to create an in-situ floor at 250mm deep from the surrounding slab and construct the room within this well to the height of the desired freezer room height. On completion of this installation the in-situ floor is insulated, and concrete poured on top of this insulation to create a level floor within the freezer room at the same height as the surrounding slab.
- The second option is to lay a panel insulated floor on top of an existing slab and construct the freezer room around this floor. The down side to this kind of installation is there will be a 172mm step up if the floor is finished in aluminium chequer plate.
Whatever way you decide to construct, we have the team and the know-how to make sure it’s built right. Contact us today to discuss your specific build requirements.
